Anaia Treefoot is a Dance Movement Therapist and Arts Therapist, based in Auckland City and on Waiheke Island, New Zealand.

Anaia works in private practice with individual children and adults, runs therapeutic programmes and therapy groups for both adults and children, and offers training and supervision to other professionals who wish to integrate therapeutic dance or art into their professional practice in a variety of settings.

Anaia is able to accept referrals for a wide range of clients, and her clinical background includes working with children with developmental delays, Autism, Attention-deficit disorder, and other special needs; Paediatric Cancer Patients; Women’s Groups; clients with depression, anxiety and stress; teens with Eating Disorders, and young children and their parents. There may be funding options available for lower income clients.

Anaia is a Registered Arts Therapist with ANZATA, holds a Masters in Clinical Arts Therapy from Whitecliffe College, is an Associate Member of the Dance Therapy Association Australia, and a Provisional Member of NZAC. Anaia completed a year of intensive Postgraduate Dance Movement Therapy Training in New York with Senior Dance Movement Therapist, Dr. Suzi Tortora. Anaia has also trained extensively overseas in Authentic Movement, Laban/Bartenieff, Soul MotionTM Dance, The 5RhythmsTM, Halprin Life/Art Process, Mindfulness Practice and Gestalt Awareness Practice.
